dota 2Coming off the heels of the very successful DOTA (Defence of the Ancients) community mod, DOTA 2 was released by Valve in 2013. Based on the Warcraft III expansion The Frozen Throne, the multiplayer battle arena puts two teams against each other on a map. Each team consists of five players, with their goal being the destruction of the Ancient, a structure at the heart of each team’s base.

All ten players on the map control a special character with unique abilities. During the course of the match, players receive experience points and items which can be used to improve the character. DOTA 2 was released on Microsoft Windows and Linux not long after, amassing millions of fans in only a short period.

The free-to-play game gets its revenue from microtransactions. Players can buy loot boxes and battle passes which contain powerful items that can significantly improve their hero’s abilities. With such a massive base of fans, DOTA 2 is a pretty competitive game that entered the realm of esports quickly after being released.

Thousands of players are competing in various leagues and tournaments. The International is the richest and biggest DOTA 2 tournament in the world. It is organized by Valve Corporation itself and features the best teams and players from all around the world.

Esports tournaments such as the ESL One also feature DOTA 2 matches. These events are quite popular as they bring the best esports teams to compete against each other for a hefty prize that exceeds hundreds of thousands of dollars. This year’s edition will be held in Katowice, Poland, between 19 and 24 February. Twelve teams will be fighting for a piece of the large $300,000 prize pool, while punters can place their bets on outright winners and ESL One matches at the biggest online bookmakers.

Event Date: 19-24 February, 2019

Fun88

fun88Powered by TGP Europe, Fun88 is one of the most popular casinos and bookies in the UK. You can find a number of sports to bet on here, including esports and horse racing. Fun88 was originally a football-centered bookie but later shifted its focus to more sports in order to attract new customers.

Esports is one of the categories at Fun88, with a variety of leagues and tournaments you can bet on. Among those you can also find the ESL One 2019, a star-studded event scheduled to start on February 19 in Katowice. Team Secret is the main favourite to win the ESL One with odds of 1/2. The renowned Fnatic team is made the second favourite at 7/1, odds too far apart from Team Secret.

OG and Gambit Gaming come next with odds of 10/1 and 12/1 respectively. The biggest outsiders for this year’s ESL One are Complexity, available at 48/1.

Team Secret may be the bookie favourite, but it surely isn’t the punter’s favourite. That “title” would go to Fnatic. The legendary team has great odds at 7/1 and has all the know-how to win, so our bet would be on them.

SportNation

sportnationSportNation is a relatively new bookie, arriving on the scene in 2017. Although its focus is on American sports, all other sports haven’t been omitted. Esports is one of the most popular markets at SportNation, featuring events, leagues, and tournaments punters love betting on.

The ESL One event in Katowice is one of the highlights in SportNation’s DOTA 2 betting market. Team Secret is the heavy favourite to win the event with odds of 1/2, with Fnatic far behind at 7/1. No surprise on the third and fourth favourites as well. OG and Gambit Gaming come at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively, while Chaos and Forward Gaming are among the outsiders with odds of 19/1 and 26/1.

For the Dream at 32/1 and Complexity at 48/1 are the biggest outsiders for the 2019 ESL One. If we had a say in it, Fnatic’s odds look great. At 7/1, you stand of making a nice profit if the British team wins the tournament. The guys know how to win, and although Team Secret is the heavy favourite, our money would be on Fnatic simply because they’re the punter’s choice.

Ole777

ole777Part of the TGP Group, Ole777 is an Isle of Man-based bookmaker that’s enjoying quite the success in the UK. A large number of sports and great promotions are the reasons why punters love this up-and-coming bookie. Of course, along with the thousands of markets in its offer.

Esports is prominently featured in Ole777’s offer, the ESL One 2019 included. When it comes to the outright winner of the event, Ole777 is favouring Team Secret at 1/2. London-based Fnatic comes second at 7/1, followed by OG and Gambit Gaming at 12/1.

Apart from these four favourites, the other teams aren’t being given great chances for the ESL One. Team Aster is among the outsiders with odds of 30/1, with Alliance close at 32/1. Complexity is once again the unlikeliest team to win the event with odds of 48/1.

If you don’t find Team Secret’s odds attractive, Fnatic seems like a good bet at 7/1. It’s a riskier one as well, but you stand of earning way more if the UK team wins the ESL One 2019.

SportPesa

sportpesaThe Kenyan bookie has made a lot of UK fans thanks to sponsorship deals with Premier League clubs and an immense offer of football leagues. Featuring more than 30 sports and over 100 leagues, SportPesa is every football fan’s dream. Of course, it also offers betting on other sports, Esports and ELS One included.

Fans of the ELS One Dota 2 event can bet on the outright winner at SportPesa. Team Secret is the main favourite once again, available at 1/2. Fnatic is trailing rather behind at 7/1, but some experts would rather place a bet on the London-based team than Team Secret.

OG (10/1), Gambit Gaming (12/1), Mineski (14/1), and NiP (15/1) seem to be dark horses. Each of them would bring you a serious return for your bets, so make your decision carefully. On the lower part of the list, Team Aster (30/1), Alliance (32/1), and For the Dream (32/1) are given pretty low chances of winning. The absolute outsider for this year’s ESL One event is Complexity, available at 48/1.
